About Our Founder…

Mrs. Brittney C. Turner is an attorney, mediator, investigator, trainer, and facilitator based in Northeast Ohio. Her alternative dispute resolution and training practice focuses primarily on workplace conflict and disputes, with an emphasis on leadership and individual accountability in conflict. She has extensive experience in labor contract negotiations, mediation, and arbitration.

Prior to opening her own alternative dispute resolution practice full-time, Brittney was commissioned as a Federal Mediator with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), in the Cleveland, Ohio field office. In this role, she aided in the resolution of labor-management and workplace disputes by providing collective bargaining mediation, grievance mediation, and workplace mediation services. She also provided training and small- and large-group facilitation, tailored to parties’ needs, focusing on topics such as: labor-management committee mechanics, contract administration, negotiating in a collective bargaining setting, grievance processing, relationship building, repairing broken work relationships, interest-based problem solving, conflict resolution, effective communication, and consensus decision making.

Before joining FMCS, Brittney represented public sector employees in Ohio as a Staff Representative for the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Ohio Council 8 labor union. During her tenure with AFSCME, she served as chief spokesperson for collective bargaining negotiations of bargaining units ranging in size from 20 employees to over 1,800 employees, including employees from skilled trades to nursing to independent childcare providers. She also served as lead advocate in grievance hearings, arbitrations, administrative hearings, and fact-finding hearings.

Brittney earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Ohio University and obtained her Juris Doctorate from Cleveland State University-College of Law. She has also earned certificates in Negotiation Mastery and Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School Online, as well as a certificate in Conflict Resolution from Cornell University. She has spoken on several panels for the Ohio State Bar Association and the Annual Arbitrator and Advocate Symposium. Brittney believes in continuous personal growth and leading an integrated life and carries this perspective into her work as she seeks to innovate in the space of conflict resolution. Her passion is helping leaders reshape their approach to conflict, and she’s committed to seeing a total transformation of conflict culture.
